Indonesia shuts down 1 million porn Web sites

With the beginning of Ramadan, the Indonesian government closes pornographic Web sites and hints that it may continue the closure past the country's holy month.Gearing up for Islamic holy month, the Indonesian government announced it has shuttered more than 1 million pornographic Web sites, according to the Times of India. And it hasn't stopped there -- the government said it has plans to crack down on millions more.
"We will block more porn sites during Ramadan," Indonesia's communications and information minister Tifatul Sembiring told the Times of India. Then, hinting at the possibility of keeping the sites shut down indefinitely, he said, "though that doesn't mean that we will allow such sites to operate during the rest of the year."
Ramadan begins in Indonesia today and lasts for one month. This country has one of the world's most populous Islamic populations and is known for being intolerant of pornography.

Last year, BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion came under fire from the Indonesian government. Threatening to block off all mobile Web browsing, the government finagled RIM to shut off all porn accessed through its smartphones. The company complied by developing a filter for all BlackBerry users residing in Indonesia. Minister Sembiring told the Times of India that roughly 2 billion porn Web sites exist and that all of the sites the government has now closed were running from other countries.

Is King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia Dead?

Death of Prince Sultan produced quite a stir in the history of Saudi Arabia, I mean he was already diagnosed with cancer, his death didn't come as a surprise to most of people in Saudi Arabia. Prince Naif was made a crown prince who after weeks ago passed away as well, really a terrible loss.

But later this evening, I heard from my friend that King Abdullah passed away, was told the news of his death would be on air this Saturday. Well, Saudi Arabia's 86-year old King Abdullah was discharged from New York Hospital after undergoing two back operations in December 2010. Sources stated that after getting into a heated discussion with President Obama of USA, King Abdullah suffered a heart attack to which the doctors ran to his rescue, now some says he died, some says he lives, no one knows for sure but time will tell.

If King Abdullah dies, it would be quite uncomfortable for the people of Saudi Arabia. I mean a crown prince and a King dies in the year 2012. Already the year 2012 has remained a very hot topic for many people around the world, this year has been discussed alot in many movies, music industry, tv shows and media. What more tragic news this year would bring? For this to know, you have to live through this year.

Link is blocked in Saudi Arabia, I wonder why.

Time to Stop Blaming our Leaders - Pakistan

A few days ago I was watching a TV Program in which the host was collecting money for her unfortunate guest. The guest happened to be a poor working maid who was struck with a sad tragedy. The people she worked for ran away with her 4 Lakh money which she was saving for her daughter’s marriage which was few months away. The poor woman was so devastated because all her life’s savings and hardwork gone in a wink!

But it was her words that moved me to tears of shame and I had to bow my head.

She said she didn’t want money; all she wanted to do was to ask all the educated and well-off people just this:

“I admit that am poor, uneducated and illiterate but I wasn’t begging or stealing. I was working honestly.  You all educated and civil people label us “labour class” as robbers and thieves. Okay there are robbers and thieves among us but that’s because of the general poverty, frustration and deprivation. But the thing is, you all rich and middle class people have created us like this, you have forced us to be robbers and beggars. Does your education, your high life style give you the right to run away with my money??  Then you all are no different from us!! I was working honestly but now you force me to beg and I feel so helpless and frustrated.”

Her words struck me and the Studio in which she was literally shouting was quiet. No one knew what to say because she was 100% right.

Keeping her story in view let me pass on a message regarding the pathetic condition of Pakistan and who is responsible for it.

We all want so many things in our country to be replaced by a better substitute and Mr. Zardari being number 1, followed by corrupt government and its elements and the incompetent Judiciary System. We all want many things to end, like: corruption, terrorism, Drone Attacks, inflation, Power failure unemployment and foreign hostile interruptions and the list goes on.

And in every matter we blame the Government, President and Prime Minister and in every talk show we conclude by shifting the matters on other person. I know our government is big time blamable but let me ask you, isn’t it time that we should look into our own collars? Aren’t we all responsible for the state in which our country is today? And please don’t roll your eyes and say that we are common people, what we can do, everything rests with our Superiors.

For a moment please forget about bigger problems, the terrorism, corruption, drone attacks and etc, this isn’t our headache for now.

Just ask yourselves this, the condition of Pakistan do we really deserve to live like this? Hmmm??

My answer is a big fat YES! Yes, we deserve to live like this.
We think of doing great things for Pakistan to stabilize it but why don’t we realize that this great things start from a series of small things which we ignore.

We complain that our leaders are corrupt but are we honest ourselves? Are we without corruption?

We complain that our government doesn’t care for us anymore but do we really care for others?

The fact is we all have grown so selfish, self-centered, materialistic, and egoistic and think only of our pleasures and comfort. When our own lives, house and family are disturbed how we will do great things for Pakistan?

We all say that we have been a victim of this civil terrorism. But why we? We are innocent people right? But no we are not innocent. Little it may be, but each of us is corrupt, dishonest, liar, cheats and steals. Don’t agree with it? Let me give you a few examples.

When there is load shedding and the whole neighborhood is dark but your house is lit, how come? Because of the Phase System or the “Kunda System” in which you just switches from one phase to another while everyone is suffering, isn’t this cheating?

And during water shortages, installing heavy duty motors to suck the water of the whole neighborhood, don’t you think that you are being a little smart, huh?

And during winters, when gas shortages occurs, people install compressors in their gas pipelines that pull every house’s gas to yours so that you can have “speedy gas”, isn’t this dishonesty?

And these are just few examples which people don’t even consider dishonesty rather they say that its fair plays. From the hawkers to the businessmen, everyone is engaged in corrupt activities, so I guess we should stop blaming the
Government for their corruptions because we are as corrupt as they are. The only difference is that we are doing it on small scale and they on big scale.
When school children can exchange marijuana then I guess the Drug Mafia has a right to exists.
When we can flirt shamelessly and forget our moral values then it is okay for our President to flirt with Palin.
When we don’t care about our relatives then it is okay for our Leaders to forget us in times of floods.
we forget that our collective deeds and activities shape the characteristics of Society. all this cheating, dishonesty and unfairness that we do with others comes back to us in the shape of inflation, poverty, general discontentment, Power shortages, target killings an other problems.

Our Country's system of Justice may have failed but why do we forget that Allah Almighty's doors of fairness and Justice never closes.

We all say that we are one united Pakistan, is that so? We couldn’t even eliminate class and rank differences. The rich doesn’t want to mingle with the Poor and keep them at arm’s length. The Poor are scared of Elites.  Then there is this modern and open minded class who thinks that the religious sectors are backward and conservative.

We say we will support our country at all times but if anyone of us is given an opportunity to live in the States, we would be the first to run. Wow!! “So much for our bleeding green”!
We all say that we hate India and yet there is no Life without Star Plus, NDTV Imagine and Bollywood.  Indian Culture has seeped deeply, slowly eating away ours.

And then there are so many people among us who thinks that Subcontinent Partition was a grave mistake for which Pakistan is paying dearly. I was shocked and aghast when a friend of mine said that what did we get from all this Independence??!!!!

And we forget that our Pakistan is “Islamic Republic of Pakistan” whose foundations are based on Quran and Sunnah, where everything is supposed to happen according to Islam and Shariah but Religion has been put aside replaced by what people say “modern thinking”.

We have shut our eyes to the evils of the society and ignoring our part in eradicating it. We see so many vulgar and cheap things going on and yet we don’t do anything.  Take a recent example, AMIR LIAQUAT"S VIDEO. We don’t even know if it’s true or fake but we are promoting it. Have a look at all those pages that have been made within one night in which his words are repeated shamelessly.  Now stop and ponder where are we going?

“The tragedy is not that things are broken.
The tragedy is that they are not mended.”

First we need to become good human beings; good Muslims then we are truly a Pakistanis. It’s our duty to serve others, to help our fellow beings. And charity begins at home. First we should focus on our domestic lives and polish them, love our relatives and be humble and God-Fearing.
And we should always remember that there is a greater Power silently working all things for good, so we should behave ourselves and never mind the rest.

Never forget that Allah Almighty is with us, watching and counting our every move. The hatred we spit out will come back to us. So it’s better to give love and do good and spread a message of peace.

Lastly we should frame our lives keeping in mind the teachings of Islam. We should follow the destiny that Allamah Iqbal laid out for us and should strive to become “IQBAL'S SHAHEEN” and live up to “JINNAH'S DREAM”.

Mixed Marriages

Hello, bloggers, readers, I just wrote this article for my friend for his homework, might as well thought to share it with everyone, anybody looking for handful of information, you got the ticket right below.

Mixed Marriages
By kashif

Man is a social animal. He needs different kinds of activities to utilize his time and energy. Human beings need to socialize and interact with each other in this world. Marriage is a form of blessing that plays a vital role in human beings’ lives. Through marriages, people come closer to each other; the relationships are established and strengthened further. There are types of marriages which affect the society differently.

There are two types of marriages; mixed marriages and non-mixed marriages. Mixed marriages are the ones in which two individuals marry each other from different race or religion.  The term mixed marriage can also describe the marriage of a couple who has different cultural, ethnic, or national heritages or backgrounds. Mixed marriages can also be termed as ‘interracial marriages’.

In this era of cold war, where countries are restraining from communicating and helping each other, and where misunderstandings about one nation spread like a wild fire putting that particular country ultimately in everyone’s black list, mixed marriages are the source for solving such problems. When two individuals from different countries are bonded together, they get to learn more about each other’s religion, race, and culture. Moreover, racism can be wiped off clean, misunderstandings are removed and understandings are born which leads to a successful marriage which is beneficial for the society. There is an increase in biodiversity in mixed marriages.

In mixed marriages, there are certain barriers which intercultural couples are exposed to. Intercultural marriages are influenced by external factors which create disagreements between the couple. The main external factor is the society in which the couple lives and it affects their marriage life quite considerably.  Problems usually arise as to how the child should be raised and his religious worship as well. In these situations, a child fails to recognize his true identity and origin. Conflict is seemed to take place in these circumstances. Sometimes communication between intercultural couples is a problem. Cultural, racial and religious disputes are likely to take place. In short, the relationships established in intercultural marriages are quite sensitive.

No doubt, mixed marriages solve many problems of people, nations and hence countries but on the other side, it creates problems too. The only way to overcome the problems created by mixed marriages is by ignoring and compromising each other’s cultural activities. Religion should not be compromised though. Intercultural couples should raise their child wisely and not present their personal problems before the kids as it will have negative effect on the children. The advantages of mixed marriages outweigh the disadvantages, thus mixed marriages should be promoted and encouraged around the world.

Hacker Hits British Navy Website with SQL Injection Attack

A hacker reportedly exploited a SQL injection vulnerability on the Website of Britain's Royal Navy, according to media reports.

The incident took place Nov. 5, when a hacker known by the alias TinKode is believed to have attacked the site and stolen passwords and usernames. Right now, the site bears the message stating that: “Unfortunately the Royal Navy's Website is currently undergoing essential maintenance. Please visit again soon.”

TinKode posted about the attack on Twitter and linked to his security blog, where visitors could find more information about the attack. The hacker, who is believed to be Romanian, has been tied in the past to attacks against NASA and U.S. Army-owned sites as well, Sophos Senior Technology Consultant Graham Cluley told eWEEK.

“TinKode's attack is particularly embarrassing for the British Ministry of Defence, as just last month protecting against cyber-attacks was declared in the National Security Strategy to be a 'highest priority for UK national security' alongside international terrorism, international military crises and major accidents/natural hazards,” Cluley blogged.

“We can all be thankful that Tinkode's activities appear to be have been more mischievous than dangerous,” he added. “If someone with more malice in mind had hacked the site they could have used it to post malicious links on the Navy's JackSpeak blog, or embedded a Trojan horse into the site's main page.”

SQL injection is a well-known class of vulnerabilities found on the Web. According to a recent report from White Hat Security, SQL injections are the sixth most prevalent attack class, though cross-site scripting and information leakage were in the lead by far. SQL injection also was mentioned as a topic on the "2010 CWE/SANS Top 25 Most Dangerous Software Errors" list released in February.

In an article here, eWEEK compiled a list of tips to help organizations prevent SQL injection vulnerabilities before hackers get a chance to exploit them.

In a statement, the Royal Navy reportedly said that the Website had been temporarily suspended.

"Security teams are investigating," according to the statement. "Access to this Website did not give the hacker access to any classified information."

“Hopefully efforts are in place now to secure any vulnerabilities and reduce the chances of such a serious security breach happening again in future,” Cluley blogged. “It is to be hoped that the ultimate impact of this attack will be egg on the face of the Ministry of Defence (and better security practices in future), rather than a more significant assault on a Website presenting the public face of an important part of the armed forces.”

Three Words....

Life was dark, life was dull, life was dry, even it was peeing with rain, even my body was wet to skin, but my soul always remained dry. I never enjoyed the pleasures of life, never enjoyed the pleasures of whether, never enjoyed the pleasures of teen age (like hanging out and stuff). I would see my class mates always working out a hook-up plan for holidays, I was never invited. Everywhere I go, it was just me, I mean JUST me (it hurts alot!). I never understood why my class mates always used to wait anxiously for the lunch-time bell to ring, never understood why my classmates grin over the moon when the weekend is around the corner. Maybe I wasn't like them? Maybe I was a little different from them? Or maybe I was a nerd? No, after having continuous check-ups from doctor arranged by my pitiful parents, I came to know I was a perfect and a normal girl. And am I not a nerd (this time, doctor didn't prove it but me). Because I have been getting C in my past exams, nothing more that it. I don't study, I am not a jockey person. I would become envious while seeing my female friends going out with their boyfriends, going to movies, bowling, mall, window shopping and god knows what else. Its just that, I was not going with the flow, neither against it. I was on the fence. Every morning I would wake up smiling, a broad grin on my face, hoping that today is my day, MY DAY! But nothing in particular happened, same old boring and social-less routine until one morning, I woke up with a feeling that something good this time is waiting, that I would only have to reach out and grab it. I was humming a song (god knows what song) just random humming while brushing my teeth. Got a lovely dress ready for school, today was a party at my school. I put up some curls in my long dark hair, my hair got all bushy type, I liked it. I put up my dress quickly as I didn't want to be late for party, went downstairs, had breakfast, bid my mom farewell and off I went.

I had this excitement arousing in myself, some weird excitement that today was some day, some out of ordinary is going to take place and its going to change my life. "what's up?" my dad asked me, looking all over my face while driving, his long face frowning with confusion as to what am I up to. "Nothing." I said, smiling to myself, as if hiding an ugly secret. I got out of my dad's Mercedes car, school was looking kind of fancy today, maybe today was a party, that's why. I entered my school and started walking towards my class. I passed many classes, all students were dressed in their best party clothes, whole of the class rooms were vibrating with party music, esp "Kesha - Tik Tok". Many girls out of inspiration were dressed as Kesha the singer, they looked real lunatics. I passed a group of boys and got myself a remark "looking unusual, where's that lousy worn-out clothes of yours that you wear everyday?". I mumbled "jerks" through my teeth not even taking the slightest bit of problem to move my lips. Finally I reached my class which was in the 3rd floor. I walked in, noticed my class teacher having a chat with another teacher. My class was decorated with flashy eye-catching particulars and ribbons. Almost nobody took notice of me, I was invisible to everyone of them and felt as though some ghost was gliding through busy human souls and would pass through them giving them no trouble of noticing what went through them. Gosh, I felt hurt. The boys in my class finally noticed my hurt expressions and called on to me, "hey you want to hook up? How about after party? We can go to my house." Sure I know why he was calling on me like that. I politely told him to 'buzz off'. I took a chair for myself and later on, the couple dancing event started. Now we were to find ourselves a partner for dancing, I decided to be a spectator as who is gonna ask me out. So I just sat there looking dumb, my eyes watering. "Sid! Sid! .......... SID!" Teacher was calling on me across the classroom waving at me to get my attention. I waved back (finally), went to her to know what was up, "Sweet biscuit, would you be so kind to get me couple of glasses from my locker", said my teacher in her British accent. I went to get what she wanted (phew , finally I was busy, yeah some party :(..)

I was encountering difficulties while opening her locker, "Mind if I help?", a good looking guy said with utter politeness, blue eyes, kind face. "Sure", I said. He did it. "Thank you!". "No problem, not at all, I am Sam by the way". " I am Sid", shaking hands with him, his hands reminded of me about my fluffy blanket I used to put on myself while I was young. So here we are, I have made friends with a blue-eyed boy, who was a bit taller than me, one class senior than me. My sixth sense was right, something really out of ordinary happened that day, me and Sam bunked school party and went to party ourselves. We broke a bread in Grand Restaurant, had bowling in the Mall, couple dancing in Love Cafe ( which I was looking forward to). Well, to cut the story short, our friendship was suddenly changed into relationship, at once, I got a life which I once dreamed of. I was happy, always smiling person, I was everything opposite of what I used to be. I started loving life, I was born again!

It was 30th March, April month was around the corner. Yes, April Fool was the main topic of gossip and discussion in most groups. Many friends of mine had talked about April Fool and their plans to fool people. I was least bothered about it as I was busy with my love life and boyfriend Sam. We had started dating and were absorbed in our activities.

3rd April, my boyfriend Sam came up to my house, wearing long coat, hands covered with gloves, muffler around his neck, gosh, he looked handsome! "Sid baby, tomorrow we have arranged party, all our friends are gonna be there, and you should come too, because its not just a party, I am going to do something special, so you better come too". "Really?!", I cried excitedly "sure I am in, but what's this special thingy? gimme some hint.". "Oh, Sid babe, alright, I will say three words to you tomorrow. Bye, see you soon!". He sped off with his chopper bike.
I came to my room, my heart beat has raced up a bit. Yes! I was waiting for this moment, THREE WORDS! I thought. THREE WORDS... WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY BE? OFCOURSE, THEY ARE GONNA BE; I LOVE YOU SID. These words sounded so musical in my mind, they sounded like romantic poem being sung by a beautiful voice. I was high above the sky now, I was feeling romantic, I was possessing all the positive feelings that ever existed in the world. I went to sleep early, I realized that I was feeling a bit nervous too but it didn't matter. I closed my eyes and started dreaming, imagining the scenario where Sam is going to say those THREE WORDS to me! Oh, I couldn't sleep, I can't sleep like this, so I thought of watching a romantic movie which I did.

I woke up early the next morning, birds were chirping in the fine weather, clouds were forming charming shades on the ground and cool breeze was blowing through my window. Perfect weather for perfect day! I thought. So I just roamed about my house stubbornly trying my best to kill my time.
Atlast here it was, party time! I put on my best dress and Sam came to pick me up. We reached the Party Hall and everybody was already there, while we were entering, it created quite a stir around the crowd, everybody looked at us and started whispering ( I didn't really care). Sam introduced me to his friends and we sat down to our table. The party was off the hook! Fully decorated hall was amazing! Atlast, it was time for Sam's three words. Sam invited me on the stage and introduced me to all the people invited. Finally, he said those Three words. The very three words that I would never have wished to hear. With microphone gripped tightly between his hands, he said aloud "APRIL FOOL, SID".

My heart skipped and stopped beating for sometime. I checked my chest to see if I am gonna die soon, I really wanted to die. Those three words struck me like a thunder bolt right through the organs of my head making them electrified and left them jam stuck. All the blood gushed to my face, I was hurt, broken hearted. I realized I was angry. On top of that, "Sid, please meet my girlfriend, Natalie" Sam introduced his girlfriend to me, the beautiful little cow! My eyes had started to water and tears begin to fall down which caught everybody by surprise. Sam, surprised, half laughing, "Sid, you alright?". He didn't seem to know why I was crying, he was heartless. I cried out loud, "April Fool!" and everybody was relaxed that I was only faking my tears which isn't true, They were true tears and Sam broke up with me with those Three Words, the very words that I have been waiting for all night, the very words I would never wish to hear!

To get out of my misery, I left that school, left that city and settled in Arab country and studied in Woman's College, yes that's right, only single-sex college!
